Nylastex has been a proud partner in the fight against the global pandemic. We were tasked with creating Covid Test Tubes and were successful in a quick turnaround to meet the initial design brief in the early stages of the pandemic. We have now made 4 specific moulds and continue to maintain and service these moulds to meet production demands.


Nylastex designs and manufactures special purpose-built equipment and componentry to assist in the Medical, Construction, Agricultural and Renewable Energy industries. Our technical expertise and knowledge have assisted these growing industries with prototype equipment and solutions to simplify and automate their processes.

At the start of the pandemic, we were contracted to bring machines purchased from overseas up to Australian Standards for the manufacture of medically approved face masks. By working with our customer and design team we were able to supply a solution and help our customer reach their production requirements within a short timeframe.


Reverse engineering is the process where a man-made object is deconstructed to reveal its designs, architecture, or to extract knowledge from the object.

This is a valuable service, especially for the Agriculture, Aviation and Mining industries, that often require manufacturing parts that are obsolete or creating compatible parts for the next generation.

By using our portable FARO Arm and Laser Scanner we can digitize and visualize parts and then translate that information into a fully surfaced CAD model.  With this information, our team of experienced engineers can discover other possible problems, vulnerabilities or solutions necessary before manufacture.  This service can provide less expensive and more reliable parts back to the customer.

3D Printing offers many benefits and is used at Nylastex for rapid prototyping for new, current and reversed engineered designs.

Our designers produce CAD models and then 3D print these designs to build functional prototypes.  Customers and designers can then use these 3D models to evaluate the design and functionality of the product. This can save weeks in design-to-production times for new components and new tooling.

Nylastex has advanced fabrication capabilities; our company employs manufacturing technologies that guarantee our customers’ excellent quality, superb performance, and timely delivery.

Metrology is the scientific study of measurement.

Australian Metrology and Calibration (AMC), a partner of Nylastex, specializes in the calibration of all types of dimensional measurements to meet Australian industries’ quality and accuracy requirements, including Aerospace, Defense, Mining, Construction, Engineering, Medical and Manufacturing Industries.

AMC is located at the same premise as our facility in Edwardstown.  This partnership allows us greater capabilities in creating and validating high-quality products and manufacturing that meets global standards. AMC has NATA Accreditation, allowing us to provide you with NATA Inspection Reports, traceable to Australian National and Internationally recognized standards.

The Metrology and Calibration Laboratory is available for calibration, inspection and reporting of dimensional measuring equipment and manufactured components. It is regularly audited internally and externally as part of our NATA Accreditation.
